I would snip the limiter...it's not likely your issue but it will eliminate the possibility.

Do an OHM's test on your plug caps. They are a known weak point on those motors.
Make sure you've got good grounds...that computer is sensitive to proper grounding.

Check your fuel system for shit and loose connections/restrictions. The connector in the pan is gone right?

Don't free hand the tps...you need the harness and a meter to set it correctly.

New plug caps would eliminate any question...but testing them may tell you you've found a problem.

The mechanical pumps seem to work fine on mine lol...I'm not saying you don't have an issue with one just that they work fine when they're working (yours are 25 years old lol)...if you want to try an electric pump you can run it with the stock pumps in line.

I can check your TPS no problem.

Overheat would buzz and knock you back to 2000rpm....like running low on oil. You can't miss it lol...you won't be on plane and the control box will be screaming at you.

I also have a complete set of excel electronics if you want to try any bits..

If your tank was going empty you would not be boating lol...it's a one time deal. If your main harness is attached and you have a factory control box (and all of your grounds are attached to the block) it will beep when things go bad. The oil transfer pumps last forever if you don't try and pump water with them. The only time I've seen one not work is when they are not plugged in. Definitely not a bad thing to check but it's not the cause of your miss.

doesnt the alarm go off if the tank on the motor gets low :? before its empty  .. what color is the alarm wire dok.? their is no brown wire coming from the block but its in the harness. so what ever that is its not hooked up.

im 90% sure its a fuel delivery issue, ill check everything i can myself and when i get a day take it too MRS for a go over

say the tps was out would it take wot down low... i can hang onto it too the floor for a bit and it doesnt stumble just up top @ wot.

Brown is the start relay usually.

The buzzer will go off once the tank on the engine gets low. Then you hold the toggle switch on the side of the motor to transfer the reserve into the little tank...at which point you have half an hour of wide open running. none of this will cause your surging...

It's likely fuel delivery or a high speed ignition break down. Make sure your fuel pickup is clean and the anti-siphon valve isn't plugged...good fuel hose and primer bulb..etc..
