Now about Craig's Allison... talk amongst yourselves... :|

We should have some video of Craig and Jake, Craig and Jeremy racing. Craig is winning with ease it appears, but the video shows differently. Top speed wise Jake is faster and in another video Craig is racing Jeremy and he is not faster on the straights. Where he is much quicker is thru the corner. That is where he makes the most gain. It is all about exit speed out of the corner. Craig is likely 3 to 4 mph faster coming out of the turn. That means he reaches his top speed quicker, so it appears that he has more top end. The fact is, the fastest boat is Todd's OMC Allison, your old boat. The Quickest is Craig's.

i to am curious to see the videos, to see where i am loosing, is it possible the 49 cubic inch motor has more pull out of the turns becasue its bigger vs the 45 cubic inch motor, maybe its just the allison hulls

Craig's Allison has a lot of $$$ in it. The engine was built well too. He is doing well for good reason. The new delta we saw on Sunday had the same engine, but it hasn't been dialed in like Craig's yet, and the boat hasn't been designed to make fast turns yet, as was seen on the course.
But I would say the 2 cylinders have more torque. They are spinning much higher rpm with the 2.4 gear ratio. Just at the moment Craig's set up is really good. I don't think there is any unfair advantage yet.

Craig had 2 cameras on his boat. He is out off town now. On his return we can get the videos down loaded. He should have both Waterford and Gravenhurst races. Daniel will be back racing T750 and he will have a better race set up next time out. There is a father and son team with a short shaft Delta Mercury that is interested in racing.
There is also 3 VooDoo long shaft 49 OMC's interested. We need to get everyone out racing and get them set up properly before making any changes.
The different motors give many options.
Look at what we have in the near future
Jake OMC
Jesse OMC
Jeremy OMC
Thom OMC
Jim Tohatsu
Dave 4 stroke Mercury
Craig Mercury
Daniel Mercury
Newbee ETEC...THIS IS THE ONE I AM MOST CONCERNED ABOUT!
Newbe Mercury
3 newbees OMC 49 VooDoos

That is 13 possible boats

Is Daniel on this forum? If not, has anyone mentioned it to him?

I think a large case 49 Omc or large case yamaha 70 is to much motor for the 750 class. You put a large case on Dok's voodoo and it's 60mph easy even with his tired motor. These are 850 motors not 750 motors.

Just my opinion.

The information I have so far from owners of the VooDoo's and from people that have owned this combination is consistent. The boats run 52 to 55 mph. These are all non race models. I would think Craig Fraser's Critchfield short shaft, big foot would be at the very high end performance wise. Under the Fair Competition Rule that combination was not allowed in T750 . We would do the same with these boats. No points would be awarded because they are currently not legal in the class.

UIM in Britain is now doing the same thing. They are allowing the 90 Yamaha to run in T850. No points awarded, but they need to encourage different motors in order to keep the class going. Our rules are years ahead compared to theirs.

I agree with you paul, and I also agree with Don. They are too much for the class itself, but on a lake boat outfit they are just fine on the course if it means more boats

I order to grow the T750 class we need to encourage new people to come out and try racing. We also must look at the boats in the area because they are the future racers. We have some very strong totally legal T750 boats in the class now. They MUST be the top boats in the class. We will not allow non legal boats to be top runners. BUT, having a larger field of boats is most important. We know that it only takes a race or two for a new racer to love the sport. They will get a different LEGAL combination once they get some experience. Let's take full advantage of our rules. We have enough experience within the group to slot any combination in the correct class. If we are unsure that illegal boat is TOO COMPETITIVE for T750 then we put it in T850 and see how it does and go from there. We want the top legal T750 boats to win on the race course and fight for the championship. I don't think it hurts to have a few new bees racing their cottage boats in the pack and adding to the show. Remember Jake racing his 49 long shaft Checkmate at Gravenhurst. A few years back at Dunnville in T850 we ran the new racers in one group and the experience racers in a separate heat. It was a great show and fun for everyone. If we can get the boat count up in T750 we can do the same thing. The top 7 race in the one heat and the other 7 race in a separate heat.

I noticed I am missing another T750 boat. I know they were working on the bottom of the new Critchfield and Paul was doing an OMC for them. I think? it is another Six Mile boat. Any update on that boat? Combination sounds perfect. New light composite Critchy with an OMC.
