I dont think anyone has said that this is the magic combo on one of these boats. Definatly nobody on this thread. Iv been agreeing the whole time a little merc race mota is the magic combo. I would say that pats setup might be the pretty close to the perfect combination for speed.
This has gone from a debate on facts to a "yes it will, no it wont" argument.
The debate is on the possibiltity of speed with what has been put forth.
The big case. NO QUESTION is way slower than that of a small one. but it has been proven to be able to go over 100 so why on this boat would it be "impossible"
big case has less drag on a bigger boat seems like something you guys came up with at 1am bablling about those damn 15' boats
And 15' boat? Is this because they made a nose cut off model at 15?
everything in this recipe equals undrivable sheer terror speed(within the limits of the lower).
Its just SIMPLE.

I'd say build it how you feel you want and it's a challenge for sure. Some of the best things in our past are from people doing what "they" think and not what others tell them. Either way you'll gain some REAL FACTS.
Cut the shit and stop typing and start building.
Jeff its in my shop right now getting built...3bp's can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time
. Putting a 3L on a viking is NOT new territory and the REAL FACTS are out there. It's getting built with a 3.1L no matter what anyone (including me...the guy who will likely have to clean up the pieces...again
) says on the interweb. The main debate seems to be that some feel that this is the magic combo to go 100+ in a 15' boat...others feel that a smaller engine might be the ticket for all out speed. Even you chose a 2.6 for your Vking...
