The Removal of the Cell Rule in T Class for 2012

I want Craig Ferrier and Chris Gordon to understand why this was done. It was not just the cost of the diver.
Here are the reasons:
[1] we didn't have or could get the people qualified to inspect and approve the cell. SO THEY COULDN'T RACE!
[2] the rules are very exact and only 3 of the 5 celled boats would past even the first requirement.
The first requirement was the boat had to built by an APBA approved builder.
Scotts Baker, Chris and Jim's Rapid Crafts pass. Dave's Oasis and Craigs critchfield fail.
[3] You had to have a full inboard style air system. Cost is over $2000.00
[4] Driver needed to pass the cell test
[5] They just changed from a 5 point harness to a 6 point harness.

THE KEY REASON IS NUMBER ONE!

We have the 3/4 side wall rule. Scott and Dave have both done the change. Scott ran his boat all last year and felt more confortable in the boat.

LC, my son and I are planning to attend the 6 Mile T Party... hopefully Kris will work his video magic again!?

It wouldn't be fun for a guy to run a low 50's boat against a low 60's boat... I keep thinking about that old dunnville footage... The front two boats were having their own race! That's not much fun for the others, is it? This is such a tight knit group. I'm sure we can keep a fairly level playing field and make it fun for all.

I think you will find that as long as you a battling for a position whether it's first or 5th you will have the time of your life. Remember if you get a lousy start it's tough to make that up unless you are alot faster. I think if we get a good turn out we will be able to group the boats accordingly and have some good racing, Dunnville worked out really well with the boat groupings.

That makes sense Charger... I'm so used to running first place in practice, so 5th will take some getting used too.

Also, i'm following you for the start... so don't screw it up! LOL!

LC is exactly right...there is always someone to race. If you're focused on running at the front you won't have fun and you'll miss out of the actual enjoyment of competition. We're racing for the love of racing..there's no prize money or trophies...or even dancing girls

...so be prepared to smile. There are boats and drivers of all skill level so you'll have someone to chase or lead....it's more fun in "the pack" trust me

I told Gig last night that I plan on jumping the start by exactly 10 seconds every race so he promissed to be exactly 10 seconds behind me at the start. I recommend this for ALL other racers....be 10 seconds BEHIND the 002 boat at the start of each race
