I thought there would be some replies from current T racers.

The rules state that you can use stock parts from other motors, but, you cannot modify the stock part.
So you cannot port the fishing motor, but you could put SST60 sleeves in a fishing motor block.
You can run an SST60 tuner, but, you cannot modify a stock tuner.

This rule is interesting.
f/h. Any combination or configuration of factory available parts.
EXAMPLE: Now you can run the big carbs on the oval port.

I think what they wanted to say was:
Any combination or configuration of factory available parts FOR YOUR MODEL MOTOR.

One of the main problems racers have with rules is:
IF it doesn't say I can't do it, then I can!
Rules tell you what you can do. PERIOD.

T750 has increased the motor size to allow more motors into the class.

6. Motors:
a. Production Stock And Altered Stock 40 to 60 hp
b. 2 cylinder models up to 849cc
c. 3 cylinder models up to 849cc
d. Mercury 3 cylinder up to 49ci

849cc is 51.8 cubic inches
This allows the larger displacement 60 hp twins
The 6H2 yamaha
The early pre 1975 60 hp and the later small carb 60 hp OMC to 1988

Don, does this mean in T-750 you can modify the 2 cylinder OMC? Rule 6a. states Stock or altered 40-60 hp , 2 cyl.
Also, can we run the 49.7 cid , 3 cyl. OMC w/ 15" mid & Nitro case? When Frasier did that 4 years ago, he had to run the big gear case!

Thom, I was not involved with the rule changes. I can only suggest what I think a rule means.
I think OPBRA wants to go STOCK.
So you can only use STOCK parts that are available to everyone.
You cannot modify the stock part.
So your 2 cylinder powerhead would be stock as per the APBA spec sheet....that has not changed.
You would run a STOCK tuner
Because they say 60 hp..I think a 60 hp STOCK 49 is legal and it can run a big foot on a 15 inch....you would run small carbs.
The 60 hp 6H2 or the 50G model Yamaha can also run...you could not run the 70 hp CES head or CES tuner. The 50G is a short shaft with the [small [edit] gearcase.
You could not run a 650XS or any of its parts because it is RATED over 60 hp.

Think the 60 hp model.....what parts did it have.....the alteration is to run a 15 inch mid......you run the foot that came with YOUR model. You can use newer parts that came on later versions of that same model .....you can up grade your 40 with parts from the 60 provided the result is the stock 60....you cannot use parts off motors that are more than 60 hp.

THAT'S MY READ...OTHERS MAY READ THE RULES DIFFERENTLY

I WAS ASKED IF I THOUGHT THE NEW T750 RULES HURT THE CLASS.

On my first read.....YES!
Now after thinking about them.....NO.....I am starting to like them.

I like "STOCK".......I like "NOT MODIFIED".....I like having the same horsepower triples running because it helps the heavier drivers....I can see more "LAKE RUNNERS" coming out to race.

It I am reading the rules correctly.....they are simple.
If it is a part for your 60 hp.......its legal.

A triple nitro case is off a 75 hp......so it is not legal
A twin nitro case is legal but only on a twin.

How competitive is a 60 hp OMC triple with a big foot?
I think the twin 60 has the advantage.

How competitive is the 50G and 6H3 Yamaha triple?
VERY COMPETITIVE with the OMC twin.
It still has the big foot, but the motor has a bit more punch.
https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya- ... 50g-780659
Just noticed....the short shaft has the small gearcase!!

Why don't they allow the 52 cubic inch Mercury?
I think the reason is....it would dominate the class.....that motor comes with a small gearcase.
The other triples have to run the large gearcase.

Also Don we are allowing the oval port with the big carbs....first of all there are 2 boats out there already running that setup and are not running away with the podium. Right now we are trying to build the class so not to make anybody have to spend a lot if they are not legal to the TCORD rules. We did not carry all the TCORD rules so the oval port with big carbs was legal in 2019. We can get really technical when we have a lot of boats showing to every race...also it's getting harder for people to find parts to keep a MODEL INTACT. If somebody runs away with all the trophies we still have the FAIR COMPETITION rule to keep things in check. Thanks for taking time to study the reference guide! Are we gonna see you out at any races this year Don?

Craig, I can't commit 100%, but I hope to be at Gravenhurst . I do like the idea of running a 60 hp 49 OMC short shaft big foot in T750.
It's a throw back to the original FE class before 1975. The twin carb 49 mercury raced in that class as well. I am sure if someone shows up with one on a Delta you would let it run.
