Here's my new to me 23' Chris Craft Lancer. From what I can tell it's a 1970 but it was repowered at our marina in 1988 with a 454 Mag/Bravo combo...with thru hulls of course. It was owned by an american family who cottaged in our neighbourhood and kept in their boat house. It wasn't particularly well cared for but it's structurally sound.
So...a bit of history...the 23 Lancer was designed by Jim Wynne who at the same time was designing the 233 Formula for Don Aronow...the first of which became his legendary raceboat "the cigarette". From what I can tell both boats share the same hull but with different decks.
I put it in the project section because I'm doing a "light" cosmetic restoration. I want it to look as good as it sounds but not too good so I don't mind using it to do day trips with the kids...and Mitch.
This is how I got it.
This is the kids driving us around the sound...we pretty much enjoyed "as is" for the last bit of the summer.
The back seat is the reason there are no budget limitations lol. The wifey LOVES it so it's being recovered as I type this.
In the fall I had a new Sunbrella top made...
Then I started waxing. Its got some serious dock rash and scars from years of questionable driver ability. The wax alone made a HUGE difference.
In the spring I'm doing the bottom paint and boot stripe as well as a stereo install. If there's any money left I'm going to replace the rub rail...but that may have to wait until next year lol.
