I made the plate. At the start of the race we used to hold the boat up in the back and drop it when the race started to plant the prop and jump off the dock. This configuration did keep the prop planted, but we needed to put foam in the tank and double the steering stabilizers (see below) as fuel slosh was a big issue. The factory high compression head was available to all and considered stock back in the late 80s.

that looks a very nice rig.
we dont even have a category over here for that. never seen a thundercat here with anything other than tohatsu.
and I think (not 100% on this) that they still all have to have a prop guard fitted.

your set up would terrify the rule book freaks over here ha ha .

slightly off topic, do you use dried compressed air in the boat tubes or nitrogen or just plain air we breathe.
often wondered about this for different weather temps.

new hulls are ~5k, used ones ~2k, typical motor is Merc 60

I have spotted a couple of merc 60s going pretty quick, but on further inspection noticed their little blue bottles used to get
them motivated!!.

5,000 dollars is bloody cheap compared to here. think that would be double to buy here.
what length is your boat, and can these have taller transom or would that be too much weight above boat etc.
