I've been driving Miatas since 1995 and I've had my Lotus since 1984. How to have fun without HP.

That is a great segment. I'm a big fan of little cars....that lotus is sexy.

I'm one! I've always wanted an MGB but it probably makes more sense to go with a Miata. If the Viper gets sold I might do something car related.

The Elan is really coolbut how practical could it be?

I mean I'm sure it's a more fragile car and more expensive to fix, especially if you decide to run into something.

Well, yes, my Lotus is more fragile than my Miata. Don't you have a Ford sedan for DD duty? I don't think a well sorted out old Lotus would be any less reliable than an old MG in similar condition and the Lotus is a far better drivers car.

I have not seen an Elan around here. There used to be the odd Europa.

David, do you autocross your cars at all?

Nope, I have not autocrossed any of my rides. Perhaps my Lotus is too fragile for that. I have had a handful of track days in both Miatas and the Lotus, but not in a long time. There are only so many summer weekends, and my boats call to me.

This is always a problem. Do I stand on hot pavement and breathe in dust or do I sit on the flybridge and sip a cool bevvy? Not hard to tell which one would win!
