Cool thread, subscribed.

Rigging tip, use a micrometer to be sure your zip ties are equal distance apart

Then of course permanently a fix the zip ties to the side of the boat using the rub rail bolts (extra long for this purpose) and lock nuts. Thus making it nearly impossible for the next owner to rerig it...

So here's the dash wiring part way through. There's reasonable access under the dash and I spent many evenings camped out under there. In this photo I still need to do a lot of connections, tiding up, and the steering hoses aren't in yet.

I used several Blue Sea Systems buss bars. 2 for grounds (1 on either side of the dash), another for keyswitch "on/hot", another for raw positive, and another for various lighting circuits (this boat has several). I installed a heavy-duty Blue Sea 30 amp waterproof breaker back at the battery. All the wiring is Ancor marine tinned copper with Ancor terminals, all heat-shrunk.

I made the aluminum brackets that hold the gauges. There's a cable tie mount screwed to the bottom that holds the split-loom. I'm not a fan of daisy-chaining (series-wired) grounds and dash lights to gauges. All mine are wired in parallel hence more wire than other boats.

And Rob - I have some Starrett 0.0001" reading mics (which Geiger makes fun of me for since they have ratchet screws ;) ) - but this rigging job was not intended to be a show piece - merely "good" and reliable is fine for this budget rig :D .

Here's the dash 95% done. The wheel matches the interior colours really well. You can see the trim plate fitted behind the side-mount control. Once I finally got the control installed I liked it a lot better than the older OMC concealed ones. The initial speed of this boat did not warrant a foot throttle, which is hard to mount anyway because of a fiberglass footrest that's moulded into the floor/liner. However, I do want one ultimately so I will cover that later.

Also new bilge pump. Don't have pics but it also got new stern light, re-habbed bow light, and new backing plate and reseal for bow eye.

Excellent job on the wiring. I love wiring that is all neat and tidy. This looks like a cool boat with a weekender cuddy. Keep going!

Nice project and nice job so far. What year is the V8 you are putting on the boat? Are you going with front mount steering ram or side ram with wing plate? I have a complete power steering front mount assembly and lots of electrical parts if required.
