The efi front will bolt right up but the jury is out if it will make more power. I know you'll definitely need to run a buracato merc box so you can tune it. The biggest small block efi yamaha was 200 and you've got to deal with the O2 (which all goes away with the merc box).

A set of Kottman carbs and a pro-v ignition would be the easiest way to build power IMO (if you're porting).

does swapping to a horizontal front make a big difference on a yamaha?

You already have a horizontal front. The efi style stacked front may make a slight difference...but I've never done it so who knows. I can't see it being a huge gain or there'd be more swapping going on.

Nope...all excels have horizontal reeds...but they are staggered. the efi has a stacked vertical front.

I have cross drilled intakes in stock...
