I don't usualy do this kind of there here. I think this is a great cause and would like to see if some HPBC people would help out with by simply voting on the internet.
My Company W.B. White Insurance has sponsored an Idea for Aviva Community fund. The Aviva community fund is a national campagn by Aviva Insurance to donate $1 000 000 nationaly to deserving causes and charities. W.B. White has sponsored a youth charity. The name is “Their Opportunity”. The charity is based here in Oshawa. (opening, in Calgary and Ottawa) They work with Durham Region Police, Big Brother and Sisters, etc. to partner with children from low income households. The purpose is to provide these kids with the opportunity to enroll in a sport or recreational activity. The organization will pay the enrollment fees of up to $500 per child so they can get involved in something worthwhile.
The really great part about the Give Back Program. Within 3 months of being enrolled, the child must volunteer their time to help a local charity or organization. Children that receive assistance are now assisting someone else, creating a cycle of generosity. So this is more than giving kids charity. These kids are learning the value giving back and appreciating the generosity they receive.
