I think we can go without and just use our cells...we're 90% there already but it's hard to cut the cord

If you have decent cel reception in your house, just do it. We have four people and four cels in the house and don't miss answering the phone during dinner to listen to some asshat sell me carpet cleaning or other garbage. Literally the only people who used the land line was our parents and telemarketers. We don't miss it one bit. I'd like to cut the cable cord too but I'm pretty sure the Mrs is not interested in that option. I'm going to put up an antenna and go for terrestrial HD and get a US netflix account and go from there.

Anyone here ditched cable and using an antenna and adding to that with Netflix and such? We have. Enjoying it so far. Getting 20 stations on the antenna, and have Netflix Canada... but for some shows we'd like to try and get Hulu. As I understand it, you need a USA internet address or something to do that? VPN and some other 3 letter acronym I cant remember. I read about it online but anything I read seems to be trying to sell me their service... or people talking about how this works and that doesn't and lots of contradictory info. Would like to follow the steps of someone who is actually doing it. If it costs a few $$ a month, that's fine. We use a PS3 for Netflix and such.

Anyone have any knowledge/advice on this kind of stuff?

What channels do you get over the air with the HD antenna? I have thought of this myself and am curious though what I would get vs. lose. I pay way too much and have been slowly thinking about cutting the cords save for maybe the internet. Our phone line was actually cut yesterday by a construction crew next door so we are without our phone / internet now but the cell phones are keeping us up. Not really missing anything it seems.

I have often thought about this as I also have Netflix and watch most of my shows online at my own leisure...BUT live sporting events remain my issue. NHL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR, F1, IndyCar...those are my go-to's and I would miss almost all of that if I cut the cord.

www.wiziwig.tv

Not HD... But it's good for a Blackhawks fan like myself.

The CRTC just announced they will stop Canadian consumers from hacking US Netflix. I'm sure a soon as they do someone will figure out a new way to do it anyway.
