The stuff did not hurt us or the boat. We were warned when we started racing about the windscreen collapsing when a Skater stuffs. We reinforced the underside of the windscreen so the water just deflected over us.The issue we had was hundreds of gallons of saltwater inside the boat. The fuel pumps and batteries were under water. The hull was sitting so low in the water that we were taking waves over the transom.

The truth is that we were running just fine until the helicopter came over us. My father pushed the throttles down and trimmed it up a little too much trying to make a better showing. Little did we know that we would make the highlight reel.

I think Rick Sr. said something along the lines of "you'll try to kill yourselves just to get a good picture" at our run last fall...We all have those "look at me" moments lol.
