you can change the helm if you want, the issue with the nfb we have is it isnt 2 cables and 2 racks. its 2 cables going into one rack. to do the nfb removal, take the helm off the rack and unbolt the 3 or 4 bolts holding the 2 halves together. there should the 3 sets of 2 rollers inside, with 2 plastic pieces at each end. cut those right out and bolt it back together. its a pretty simple process besides the hassle of getting the steering taken apart.

I will have to look at that! Does it get rid of torque steer locking? That's my biggest problem. Over 70mph I couldn't correct chine walk if I tried, I can only back out and try again...

Btw my Nfb has 2 cable going into 2 racks, both cables exit on the same side, one rack above steering shaft and one below.

Hey DoctorC, what do you use for steering in you Voodoo? I had thought "string steering" might be a real pain to use with trim (wouldn't it get slack when the motor is trimmed up)?, but looking around I see a lot of race guys use it. Any suggestions/recommendations welcome.

It gets rid of most of the torque lock, it made the 15 checky much more controllable. Yours must be the older NFB system which I think I would prefer if you can get a replacement cable in case one seizes.

I've got string steering on the voodoo and it's a breeze to drive. If the system is installed correctly then you won't get slack when you trim.

You can also just use a regular rack style setup..

I think string steering works great for the little boats and like Dok said no issue with the trim if set up correctly.

Who could I order the string steering from, is there a member/supporter that sells it?
Also is there a web page to look at the options ie:steering wheels or better best kind of thing?
Thanks again for the input.
