Grey wire loop hanging out from under the ECM...right on the back of the motor...It is the rev limitier...cut it...no more limiter. This applies to any Carb/EFI 2.6 or 3.1L motors. The HPDI's do NOT have this...


my excel has a connector, no cutters needed. :lol:


a connector means someone has thought about plugging it back in lol...


its never been unplugged .. or should i say unleashed :lol:

I believe the wire with the connector has something to do with diagnostics, and I think it's yellow.

It actually disables the computer and puts the motor into limp mode...on both motors.

i just went and looked at mine,, it has a grey wire with a connector and no yellow wire that i can see,,, so what do we have goin on there? limp mode or rev limiter?. :| :?

yeah for F'sakes boomer ... what is this Tech Talk.

regarding the valero.... we are going to get jordan into some cleavers to get used to the way the cleaver feels... the motor will prob have to go up..

Ya...we talked last night about Ken's 34 or even my non-labbed 32 just to get the feel of it. May not be an issue at all but stern lift can make for some interesting handling characteristics but we all know cleavers make speed. The 15" might want to paddle itself around in a circle lol.
