Do all boats have a "core", or are some just stringers and flotation foam?

Most performance boats have some sort of coring as well as stringers. It's intended to keep the boat ridged and light...if the core is well sealed you likely won't have an issue but you do need to get rid of the water and the wet foam. It's a cool boat...one worth saving in my eyes.

Thanks, the water is now out. I epoxied the holes and glassed them back in, and installed deck plates on each side to monitor it over the season. Next winter I will pull the floor and lose the foam.

I think I am going to take it to the scales to do a rough calculation of how overweight it is right now. According to NADA, the boat is supposed to weigh 1,257 and I can get a weight on the motor but not sure about the trailer. The previous owner said he had it doing 68MPH GPS with a 26P chopper, but he has never adjusted the jack plate and it is way below the pad. If I can get it doing that again, I will be quite happy.

A 36" pitch is huge, would take one helluva motor to spin that.... A 26 maybe????

Got it doing 62MPH on the GPS with the ski prop last weekend (58 with the wife and dog).

At full trim, the water gauge was nearly 30 and I got a beep. Looks like I need to do the water pump?
