Well, after some mix-ups with the shipping companies, my new engine finally made it to it's new home. I went and picked it up yesterday and it looks good!
Image
It's a modified 2.5L 200, dynoed at "243.77hp at 7100rpm". It came with the champ style exhaust plate and tuner, a new 1.87:1 lower unit with a Bob's nosecone, and adapter for the champ mid. Haven't had a chance to do a compression test or take a real close look at everything yet, but it all looks real good. I am going to take the mid apart to check all of the parts and bushings for wear, then sand blast and powder coat it before assembling everything. It will all look brand new when I am done. Can't wait to get it all put together!

That would be a 12" Boomer...

Is that the motor from Eagle one?

Thanks! No, it's an old style (hydraulic trim, manual up down) 12" champ/F1 mid with through transom trim. I want to avoid cutting big holes in the transom if I don't have to, so I am thinking about making a set back type bracket so I can just mount everything outside on the transom. The only problem is if I use the trim ram that came with it I will need about 8" of setback, which wouldn't be ideal. Since the trim ram is actually significantly longer than it needs to be, I may just end up making my own shorter hydraulic trim cylinder and bracket to mount everything as close to the transom as I can. It should end up being close to the new style (hydraulic in/out and up/down) studs down mids.

You beat me to it. Correct 12". And yes it is the one from Eagle One. He was selling it complete with a standard 20" mid, but it got him to swap the mid for the tuner/exhaust plate, lower unit adapter, and shortening the drive shaft for the 12" mid. When I get it set up, the lower will still be fully shiftable from the drivers seat.

Man you guys are quick! haha Thanks! I'm like a little kid on xmas morning waiting to play with his new toys right now haha. I think it's going to be a good summer. I am hoping to have it all together and running by (hopefully before) the boat show in July. And am planning on taking the APBA/OPC driving school in June in Bay City, also a good excuse to go see the Bay City Rive Roar, looks like a blast.
