After a painful trail run with a 2.6... Finally the big block 3.1 yamaha has rested on the back of the blacked out Velero. With seemingly endless small issues in rigging and finding parts it became running this evening(thanks to rick for some of his work this week).

Excited i drove it down the road to a local lake here for a water test.

With absolutly zero setup time, (i regret to inform team negative 90s) it banged out a solid 94mph.

I feel this is a very solid base number considering the few things left to install on the 3.1

I also went 91mph with a passenger and got a fishing rod pointed at me like a gun...

This is obviously going to be another epic win for team 80s

Yes epic win.. With all three team 80's boats on the water this weekend. All you nay Sayers like Mitchie and Rick can suck it. Because first run In the Valero was 94 with not even a secound of my setup time on it... Lol.. and I took down a euro hard this weekend in the challenger and the martini does 70 with 3 smokin broads on it..

How did team 90's boats do this weekend ? Oh wait... Is it too early in the season ? I'll check In September.

I am not the official spokesman for team 90's although I am onboard with the sensibilities but that is a seriously impressive number in the Valero  ! Killer!

Jesus...I just came on to bump the old thread and eat my crow.

Well done at 94...that is smokin' fast regardless of setup time. ESPECIALLY with a stock HPDI gearcase with above the bullet water pickups.

James the thread win does go to team 80's for the Valero....but I don't know how much of "your" setup time 3bp is gonna want or was the air-brake an experiment that just went south?? :)
