I don't get the numbers matching thing. For example Chrysler made tons of Challengers and tons of 440's. It would not effect the driving experience if the numbers didn't match.

I think more and more people are realizing this. Numbers matching is fine if the numbers add up to something cool lol. I'm a big fan of the restomod, rat rods, and custom stuff. Numbers matching means 14" wheels....not cool lol

I hear ya. My old man's truck would not be as cool numbers matching - LOL!

Matching numbers have their appeal in a certain crowd... It comes down to drive what you love and call it done.

I like the resto mood as well, when I last took out an older gto a few years ago < I realized I had forgotten how BAD the older muscle cars handled compared to whats out there now. Did you guy's see battle of the supercars last night? new modded camaro and mustangs with 1000hp. crazy drag race.

If I did buy an old muscle car, I'd want bigger wheels and tires and headers for sure. I can't believe the old cast iron exhaust manifolds they used.

It's pretty funny to look under the hood of my Lotus. Header, tuned intake runners, twin carbs, twin cams, but only 1558 cc. Then I see a big block with lousy intake and exhaust design, but way more cubes...It was a funny world back in 69

Best friend's in high school, his dad owned a speed shop in town, 1967, small block with b&m supercharger under the hood, attached behind is a Sidewinder lowpro. Fast car back then.
