Not knocking your nomination Andrew, but isn't this a voted position by all CBF members?

Your response to this is about as evasive as it could possibly be.

Obviously folks interested in the inner workings of the CBF rules are lol well interested

Please enlighten us as to how this process is even possible???

Pissed you didn't get the call??

What's with all the concern? It's not like the CBF has it's fingers in the operation of the individual clubs. At the very least having someone on the board that knows what an outboard looks like is a plus lol.

The process for replacement of a director is usually in the bylaws.

Based on what i read above a director was voted in at the annual general meeting, at some point he resigned after the AGM and based on what is typically in the bylaws the president is charged with finding a suitable replacement board member (other then the president position as that is filled automatically by the VP) that is then voted on by the existing board of directors not the entire membership. The term of the replacement director is only until the next AGM where the position is vote on by all members if someone chooses to run for the position.

OPBRA has the same due process in it's by laws as well.

Anybody interested in the CBF board should let Norm know board positions and committee positions always manage to come up. It's a thankless job quite frankly. Thanks for accepting Andrew. I wasn't at the CBF AGM but i take it nobody other then the board member who resigned ran for that vacant position or they would have been tapped on the shoulder for the position.

Without even knowing it Doc, you have hit the propshaft on the blade with a bad strike at the nut...

No objection to Andrew or anyone else for that matter, having any position within office. Could care less if any of you run for president once the buffoon trump is booted.

Oh, wait, sorry we are talking about the progress of boat racing in Canada right? LMAO

Since one of you above quoted some of the rules and obligations of CBF, please tell me what CBF's mission is? i can help if you like...

Andrew, since you are the new Vice President of Racing in Canada. Perhaps you could advise me how to avoid being on probation in the future?

Please be specific here, ________________________________________________________________________________________

Dammit Man we just want to race the same as you and you are just shutting us down at every opertunnity...

Why???

I'm not going to discuss anything of that nature on a forum. Things can be interpreted wrong or people read between the lines things that are not intended. I've been burned many times for things like that and why I post so little. Right here for example, I post a simple reply trying to help people understand why my name is listed with the little info I know and I get jumped on. I guess I'm not a great communicator. You are welcome to call me, pm me for number (any racer for that matter). But as mentioned several times, I've not even been to a meeting with the board yet, I don't know particulars of past discussions, I don't even know when the next meeting is. I have to go to my real job now.

One last thing I thought of on the way to work which I think will be beneficial to all that I learned years ago. Talking to a Board member (be it CBF or club level) is not the same as talking to the board and doesn't mean the board will discuss it or even know of your issue. This has caused many people headaches over the years. If I want the board to discuss something, I get my topic on the agenda. For CBF I email Lise and two CBF board members usually. They are usually the president and another relevant position to my topic and I ask for it to be present at the next board meeting. Even though I'm on the CBF board now, I did this just last week for a situation that has come up for my 25SSH class between CBF and APBA. Things "usually" don't get missed if you do this.

Yep, agreed and apologise.

Wrong place and time to vent my frustration.

Not that it has gone away, it is still ever so present.

The rest of this conversation will be in an email.

Thanks all for listening lol

Now at least you know i'm pissed at something...

Free decoder rings when it is resolved...

I wish you all a trouble free race season for 2018... good luck
