If I put a 250 on it, it will not be legal for Formula class. I am trying to talk myself out of the HPDI.

FWIW it's hard to beat the Excel/225 for bang for the buck...the Hpdi's are great on gas and have a lot of torque and tend to shine on a larger/longer boat that can deal with it. I'm still a fan of the OX66 motors in an high performance application over the Hpdi anyway....but you lose all the fuel mileage.

I still love my old 225 but I love the big block torque more lol.

The hpdi is NOT a great drag motor...the limiter makes running short props nearly impossible.

I'm not doing myself any favors here since I actually have a 250hpdi and a 300hpdi to sell lol

Just thinking about the engine at this time. I plan on looking at it over the weekend. If I do not buy it I will pass the info on to whoever would be interested. It is not a $8000 engine.
The extra weight really concerns me, the Seebold was built when the Merc 2.4L was the engine of choice. I believe that engine is around 400 lbs.

i think a mod 2.6l would stomp on a 2.4l, but i dont know so i have one of each to try  .. whoahahahahaha

Ya...that is my thinking. Chris and I picked that boat up off the trailer...I had the transom....clearly my power lifting days are well behind me lol so it must be very light.

I'm pretty sure this is the same boat..
