Hey, guys, finally getting out a little, no, I did not do the paint on my ae, the origional owner had it done, thanks !, I am in no way a setup guru on these, but after some tunnel hull driving lessons, and advice from more experienced boaters, I think I am on the right track for this year. not going to do much to the ae this summer, starting off with a 15 1/8" solas scorpion 27p machined for mercury exhaust plugs. The boat has 8" setback, with a haydrllic jackplate, witch right now will lift the motor to 1" under the pad, the motor I believe is stock, maybe a little more compression, or its just very fresh LOL, had it to 6800 rpm last summer without any issues. I'm going to bluepring the last 4 ft of the hull in June sometime hopefully and see what I can get out of her this year. Looking forward to running with alot of you in may. I think I will pick up the new prop that morning .

Steve

Hey Boomer. That's my Excel cowl.

The engine is gone, but I have a "new" cowl I was telling you about.

I can make it the same as the Blue one I did, or whatever colour you like to match your Baker

LOL - good one Steve

It just so happens I have an extra cowl that I was going to spruce up for the Yamaha.

the buyer of the engine didn't need the cowl as he's doing a block swap and is keeping his current cowl and Pan.

So - I've got a cowl. All sanded and filled - ready to be painted, wrapped or whatever.

I could try a carbon wrap - if someone wanted to go for that?

Not planning on making any cowls - just makin' 'em purdier.

I was thinking more of popping out a mould and making carbon fiber cowls , I know, time, money.... would be cool though.Going to try a few tweaks this week if I have the time.

Ya - I figured thats what you meant.

I've got too many F'ing hobbies now. I'd never get into the house if I started that stuff.

Pam thinks I live in the garage as it is - never mind that?

LOL

Good luck with the tweeks. We can talk about your skull fetish on the weekend

The trick is to keep making the garage nicer, eventually , I want to extend the back out on my shop in beaverton, have a motor rebuild station, hot tub. maybe a second boat ( race boat???) ideas??????? must be practical, witch means it must have two seats , and run on "marina gas" other than that , anything goes!
I'm expecting some very interesting suggestions and ideas from this group
Steve
