As soon as I get a gearcase, I will be out. James do you have a Chartplotter/GPS. I wanna run from O.S. to P.S. But I would be wisest to do it with somebody else... And with a good GPS. It would have to be an absolutely perfect day.

I'm down. the only thing i have is an i pad with a navionics app... it seems to work but i don't know how reliable it is.

i just plotted the trip and its 44.6 miles from the marina you launch at to the Umbrella Islands. and its a Strait shot with nothing in between... EASY.. we could literally go for lunch and back.

My friend and I have discussed jumping in the boat... Heading to PS... Taking a picture of us downing a pint on the patio and then heading back ... Our wives would barely get through a Bradley Cooper movie before we were back.. lol. I wanna do it. BAAD! But it is seriously OPEN water. The day would have to look like this.....
This was the afternoon that I got the idea. Now I'm determined to do it. I went all around Griffith Island on this day... And I is as open as it gets.

I'm just about done re-rigging etc. Should be ready to go as soon as the ice is out.
Couple years ago we were skiing 5 days after the ice was out. Mid April I believe.

I've got the navionics app on my phone and I love it. Used it last year on our trip up the trent. Got us across Simcoe and and back, as well as into Orillia in a rain storm. Couldn't see a damn thing. Just followed the app and it took us right into port.

I would use it a bit first Before relying on it soley James.
