Thats moooovin' Paul...

It kinda confirms what I was thinking about the XR being much faster than the SS.(top end numbers of course).
Hence Reynolds running those huge numbers back in the day... And not so much with the new ally's.

They didn't make the SS back then. And the record XR was NO standard XR2002 by any stretch !!! So you know Glen has run over 125 in an SS and XR2001RR
And it's typical any boat with a small cross section will be aerodynamically faster if able to be driven.

I know... thats why I said not so much with the new ones(ie SS, and the 2003's..). Are xr2001's knows as a top end boat or more a drag boat? What is the fastest anyone has claimed to have gone in an SS?

I don't know if anyone built a top end XR01 strictly for top end. They're mainly built for drags and a drag weight boat I wouldnt want to run in a top end battle that's for sure

there was that one with the 200 that went 122 down south, there was about zillion posts and people and video of that one.. so that seems legit..

I think there is way more to aerodynamics and fluid dynamics then you are giving credit to in this thread.
I am by no means an 'expert' but I do have enough of an educated background to say with certainty that 'most' boat builders are not experts either lol
To my knowledge Roark was one of the only guys who ever made an attempts with aerodynamic testing.
Not to say that Darris and others don't have agreat feel for what works.
But you can't just say that a hull with a small cross section will go fast.

Face the facts here guys. Allisons and Traids are all inferior to the one true design that is considered perfect by even NASA's best
Thank you Mr. Pipkorn 8-)

Darris in design had thought of the aero effects. As he stated "... we kept the air in mind with the XR2002 and every hull since then. We drag the rear end gradually downward but with a VEE you can only do so much. . . Ya ever see a rocket fly straight with no rear stabilizers ?"
And you can only do so much. That's why from small OB to offshore the tunnel hull was shunned ( except in F1 ) for so long until it was impossible not to realize for the time and from then on a wing will fly better from its lift then a sausage with a big motor.

Any very true about the 'streams. He was way ahead of his time. The Vector and Viking almost force their bows level. When I owned my V-King I always wanted to try a top end vs windscreen and no windscreen. Ive "read" at 100+ either hull without a windscreen is like driving a stubborn fat chick away from a buffet.

Wiener....

Pat.... I would hope to god a voodoo with a mod 260 would break triples.... Now the big boys are talking.. lol.

What really gets me is that when I "read" the allison owners stuff... You got a huge cross section of ss2000 top speeds with different motors... basically. You got a bunch of guys with 260's running 105 and then a couple that say 120 plus. and the same goes throughout the motors posted... 106 - 107 ... then a couple with 120 plus... Aaaand Yammer is the fastest!
What is the gaping difference Jeff?

Lee..... They were out of the dream police's jusidiction... lol.
I believe he went 122mph.... I just doubt very highly that motor was remotely stock. It's horseshit. But what the eff do I know?
