Your opinion is yours... and thats great and respected and my opinion is of my owns views and experience as well, it doesn't mean there's only one opinion in the entire boating comunity throughout. I like the Triads way better then the Allison GT20 regardless ( except for the rare GT20 Twins ). From a very good few sources the Triad came from a GT20 and was made what it is now and it's a great boat. Most boats out there have come from some derivative of another.

And as for yours only making a slight turn in any way at all is great news for you because a severe blow out isn't a single bit of fun at all. Now I've been in a Triad Vee on a river run and it did blow out on Casey and I and it did make a move to the right but only slightly..... as well.

I've personally blown out almost every Allison I've driven ( and almost every hull I've driven ) but you have to to find the edge in getting up to speed ( not at 110 plus speeds ). At no point did it make a "bat-turn" or "spin" ...... the bow drops and it goes a little to where it wants to. Once again you have to know what to expect and what the slight signs are before it sends on an un-fun version of the blow out.

Mitchie have you driven and flown an Allison ? What other boats of serious speed have you run ? ( not being a dick at all just curious as to whats given you such a "Mine is better then yours" view instead of even mildly unbiased ;) wink wink ;) haha )

Good debate for sure :)

PS - I think the Allison with the Yamaha power in question is still a good idea. Haha :)

hahaha.. i new this was coming.... Jeff does the GT20 run almost the same as the Triad v21?

I can't comment on one as I've only driven a Triad Vee . Almost had a chance to drive a completely restored Allison GT20 Twin race boat but missed it by one weekend. . . . so I have zero idea.

In all honesty I have never driven an Allison.... Been around them tons and listened to owners but never driven one.(they scare me.. lol). One thing I have done is burnt alot of gas in my boat.

I have driven one of the fastest river rockets around into the 100's(Barney)...... And I will say that contrary to popular opinion, it was not easy. It was scary as hell.
I tend to base my stubborn opinions as reaction to the almost religious devotion of a few highly visible allison owners...
No other brand seems to carry this cultish following... Basically if allison does it a certain way than that is the best way.
these people tend to turn a blind eye to some short comings.. But love to point out that triads are shit because they are full of wood, You sit too high in them, some even claim poor craftsmanship and weak strings which to me is hilarious. You are correct Jeff.. Most of my knowledge is based on stuff I have read. But I have read alot... (including alot of things you have posted throughout the internets...) The reality is that there are a ton of beautiful boats out there... And naturally we like to defend our investments...

I Really like them.... But the cheerleaders make me sick.

Any of the cheerleaders actually chicks wearing a few strings or next to nothing ? Then they can cheer all they damn want !!!!
;)
Wow I've truly never heard a bad thing said of any Triad product really. Maybe a few flaws here and there but thats typical in EVERY manufacturer. Maybe the people that threw mud at Triad's boat have had a certain one off incident. I'm sure if that was the case then Wally would honour the repair.

I was kind of thinking that the SRV looks more like the GT20 then the triad!

The front of the Triad hull and the GT20 hull look alot alike in pictures... I would love to park my boat beside one.
