You'll learn....eventually :). I've still got my Dad's wood sided yamaha receiver and amp from the late 70's....I love all the old dials and meters lol

My old fake wood sided 1976 Pioneer receiver gave up the ghost a couple of years ago. I could have had it repaired, but I bought a new Yamaha receiver instead. 1970's stereo equipment, just like your dad. I wonder if I'm as old...

As for learning, I'd buy a clean 2.6L 225 Yamaha tomorrow if there was one in Windsor. I expect I'll stumble across a Promax before I find a Yammy though. I am extremely time limited which will restrict the buying process..
