Those are interesting looking boats! Never mind the yamahas
Are they the same length as ours? or are they just built different because of long-shafts and no trim?

Jake, they run a slightly longer boat in T850 than us. Most are in the 14 foot range. All the 70 hp motors are all 70CES Yamaha 15 inch models. It is their only legal motor.
Power trim is allowed. The 90 yamaha must run with its original big foot. It definately has power trim. I am trying to find out what hull that 90 yamaha is on. When they run the 90 yamaha in offshore the boat is larger and two people ride in the boat.

Another PPR former racer interested in T850.
Hope he logs onto the site.

Hi Don, I'm not sure if we've met before but I used to own the number 24 [Will Alsops ] green and yellow Critchfield [Mike Hooper has it now it is blue] I raced once in Sudbury before PPR folded and I sold the motor to one person, but another motor and sold it and the boat to someone else. Not sure of names anymore. Long time ago now. Anyway, I see the class is up and running now with torc and I have a few questions I'd like to ask. I'm looking to have a boat on the water for next season. If you could give me a call, at 519-492-0456, that would be great. Thanks,

Kevin McMillen

Kevin now has a VooDoo, needs a nitro case and he owns a machine shop, so he could be helpful in making parts and helping other T racers.

Just an FYI... Seaway Marine stated today they have no plan to make all the parts required to make a new SST60, this is not possible to their knowledge.

Just an update on this from back several months ago in this thread... Seaway has been busy. You can now buy brand new race legal 45SS engines (legal for classes 45SS and SST45, not T750), now and in the forseable future, pricing (said to be reasonable) will be released this weekend at APBA convention. Any part that was not available they have remanufactured to OMC drawings. All new parts are APBA/CBF legal.

Jake @ Seaway also told me today that they plan to release a limited supply (5 likely) of complete and new SST60 engines in the fall. There is still no plan to remanufacture this engine in complete form, but they have come across enough parts to make a few complete engines it sounds like. I"d say you never know though... if the 45 sales take off, maybe they will look into the 60 engine.

Edit: Sorry I stated Mike told me... I was talking with Jake actually.

I assume the meeting will be the official release... so price is released then. My wild off the cuff ball park guess is $6499. haha. But I have no idea.

lol that's not bad for a 30yr old motor that you have to put together or are they shipping them ready to go, Looks like i will be competitive with our race motors if that's the price. :D

I hope Seaway improves the stock of SST60 gear case parts. Last week they had 2 complete gear cases [$1600.00] and no drive shafts. The NEW gear case parts are very important for the T850 class. Suggestions were tabled at the T meeting on the weekend. The group decided to leave the rules unchanged at this time except for a reverse gear rule.
