In my opinion...I don’t think it will happen. APBA have already failed at two efforts to promote similar oval track classes one was the stock class called SSV and a mod class called FV. 90 Yamahas raced in both of those classes.
The drag groups did have limited success with racing triples so that is a possibility.
The future is to look ahead and get current model outboards racing on the oval track or better still a race course with a right hand turn. Copy proven ideas to improve the performance of the modern outboards. Get outboard manufacturers supporting the sport.
I am certainly not opposed to the 90 hp Yamaha on a TBoat. I have had one for 30 years.
