I'm making a spreadsheet type thing for our classes (we raced 19 different classes this year in TORC)... can a brand new T850 motor be purchased? And if so what models. Are they competitive stock, or is this a Mod class?

Thx.

"stock" is to say, mild blue printing to fishing spec would be stock, bolt on wing plates for steering would be stock. "Mod" would be LWP, nose cones (are these competitive without nose cone? I don't know), cutting or having to swap out mids/drive shafts (is 20" competitive? I don't know), etc...

Hi Andrew, T850 can be shown this way.
4 stroke and Etec motors can be purchased brand new and must race 100% stock. You cannot blueprint them. You cannot touch or remove any part other than those in the rules.
For two stroke, you can buy new parts to build a complete NEW motor. All of the parts are supplied by Sea Way Marine in Seattle. If you want Seaway would assemble the complete motor for you. So you can buy a complete motor if you choose to.
Low water pick-ups at not allowed in the class. Noses cones are legal.
There is no rule that you must run a 15 inch mid. So both are legal and both are stock.

Thank you.

I assume the Seaway motor is a SST60?

Don

maybe a wrong spot to put this but a sst 60 is leagal with 160 compression in 850, so is a sst 45 with 160 compression legal in t 750?

An SST45 was never made with F-N-R gearbox, so not legal for racing in T750. Their powerheads have been out there though on frankenstien motors. Maybe the 45SST powerhead is just same as a stock 45 power head, I have no idea.

Not the complete SST 45 motor. You must run the stock gear case not the SST 45 gear case. The powerhead is basically the same as the 60 hp fishing motor. We have run both power heads on 15 inch stock mid and stock gear case. Performance is equal. You can run at 160.

Just an FYI... Seaway Marine stated today they have no plan to make all the parts required to make a new SST60, this is not possible to their knowledge.

Interesting since they list all of the parts in their current parts book.
