I always knew Mike was a sharp guy, and I have also met his new “roommate” a couple times (first time on the Northbase dock actually) and she is the whole package, so VERY wise choice young Mister Winstone ;)

Yeah Starboard is sort of soft, but it’s heavy and expensive. I’m kind of cheap lol, I might try Nidacore with a light layer of glass on each side, TBD. With the right enhancements you can make it just as stiff as wood.

Matt, your upholsterer might curse you using any type of fibreglass over any type of substrate as their staples might not penetrate it. They have a hard enough time just going through a coating of resin or epoxy over wood.

I did my AE seat bases in penetrating epoxy and had that exact problem getting the staples in . It worked ok , but if I had to do it again , I would just do one coat of epoxy instead of two.

The back seat in the SRV looks to be COOSA board...staples seem to work ok.
