Look at the number of good looking V boats, the different types of boats and different makes of motors in these pictures from 2017.

They are spending a lot of money on their boats for this class

Mike when you look at this picture of this class a few years ago the boats were old open style boats, some critchfields and a few rapid crafts. The critchfields and rapid crafts are now gone and replaced with the 15 foot boats. The drivers are not young kids looking to move up in classes. You don't need super fast racing, it just has to be competitive racing.

Twin City was the major club in the states promoting FV class. That class raced mod motors including V4's and in line 6 motors on boats 13 to 20 feet. That class had a very short life and died in a few years. V4 record boat is bottom picture.

The current trend is smaller STOCK motors. They don't have as wide a selection of motors as we do. The VP75 class was just a 49 OMC class and now they are allowing other motors in. You make rules to expand the number of motors to race. You shouldn't make rules that reduce the number of competitive motors in a class.

Now V4 as a stock class is VERY popular....tri-hull boats.

I tried to get a similar V hull class going here but had no interest.
