When buying an old Boston Whaler, the first question you ask is...How much does it weigh? The 11 foot tiller model only weighs 210 to 220 lbs. Water logged flotation is VERY common and most non original owners are not aware of the problem. Some say you can drill holes and use a wet vac to get the water out....I don't think so . You need to separate the hull, remove the water logged flotation and install new foam. Here is a good example of the problem. You can tell by the picture the boat is nose heavy....flotation is water logged! Owner is selling the boat CHEAP!...$200.00.
If you have the time and skill for the project....you can resell it at a very good profit!! Plus restored to their original weight they are a fast classic boat.
