I starting to think it might be my tach. I am going 4 mph faster. From 18 to 22 mph.

if your going 22 with a 13 pitch prop I would guess it should rev around 5k. Is there a flatter prop you can try? would still be nice to get the revs up higher. Also try turning the screw that sets the number of poles on the tach, just wiggle it. I have had one corrode and lie to me before although it read higher than expected. That gain in MPH seems appropriate with the 20hp so I suspect the motor is working!

I am going to try the tach maybe on the wrong pole for the 60. the 40 is a 91 so the pole might be different. I will check it out on the weekend.
