I would also check the filter and see if there is a blockage in there. I say this as I had one earlier this year which lead to hesitation at WOT. I popped the filter off and sure enough found the blockage. It is quick and easy to do as well.

i'v done that and was even going too delete the oem filter and switch it for an aftermarket one...

the 5 gallon plastic tanks do not have adequate venting for your motor. I found this out testing mine when I was waiting for my fuel cell. see if you can install a better vent on the tank, and dont run with it almost empty( a few wide open passes LOL)

lol yes it seems everytime i hit wot if it doesnt cut out it runs out of gas,, im gonna slam a big air hole in the lid and test it..

eventually i would get a small plastic fuel cell, maybe 12 to 15 gallon and mount it permantly in the boat, check the pickup in your plastic tank and make sure it has no screen and is 3/8 tube.

i have the original stainless one but it wont fit anymore,,, a freind of mine has offered me a bow tank for it but im worried it will aggravate the chine walk,..i have my eyes open for a set of side balast tanks or under seat tanks,. but they all sound expencive..

take the bow tank, your chine walk is because your motor is not high enough, you have single cable steering, from the pick I saw, these two things make it alot worse. a certain amount is normal on a v pad boat as you dont have much boat in the water a full speed, measure how far the centerline of your propshaft is below the bottom point of the hull and post. take a 4' level off the bottom surface of the hull and trim the motor so the propshaft is level (parallel) with it and post the height. this is a good starting point.

you guys have so much advise i can't keep up with you ,, :lol: chinke walk isnt too bad right now....but i know it would be better with dual cables and solid mounts and a 20" shaft...in time my freind.... right now the prop shaft is about 5" below the v,,the prop just breaks the surface..and my water pickup is about a half inch below the paralell line of the hull...so i;'m into some serious tuening and $$$ to get er into the 70's...iv had it up to 62 a few times on gps as is before it cuts out...dual cables are on the top of my list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for safty :roll: .....i want to hit 80 in it one day just once,,,,,,,,," i dunno if you heard about "that guy"? " " ,,,,,,,, im that guy.. :lol: " :D im on my way to pick up a 26p chopper today :D we'll see how she spins.

i had the saft 2" lower than it is now and the 2 i moved it up made a huge difference but its as high as it will go for now..i do plan on taking dok up on has offer i need to find a 20" drive shaft now,,,,maby even a used lower unit for 20" and lwp...i'll be looking..i need too get too work.haha
