How are the stock HPDI lowers holding up with surfacing props?

Anyone had to go to the fatshaft conversion that HT sells?

Thanks

I surface the crap out of mine with a 15 1/8" diameter big three blade and no issues so far. I modded it for low(er) water pick up and the videos shows the water at speed hitting the lower about a 1/2" below the tip of the cone, doesn't get much more surfaced than that.

Current motor has one.

Definetly a good way to go, but costly.

Was just curious how the stock HPDIs were holding up.

Given the Sporty failure rate I'm not so sure I'd spend the money. You can buy several used HPDI lowers for what one Sporty is worth. :o

HPDI lowers seem fine...change your prop shaft every 100 hours to be safe if you run in and out of the water a lot. The sportie conversion from HT is ridiculous money for what you get....and the prize at the end in a couple mph and a grenade :).The fat shaft fixes the one issue that the HPDI lower has and if it saves a lost prop than it's not so bad....but....I'll just buy a new shaft and roll the dice lol.

Converting a sportie to 16" isn't crazy....not much more work than doing my HPDI (thx GeigerTech).
