Seein as none of the other 12" crowd have chimed in on this I guess I'll be the first to toss in my .02$.
If there's gonna be a 1550 lb weight restriction and performance restrictions on drag motors then who cares what mid you're running??
As has already been said, if you take to much weight outta the ass end your gonna mess up the balance point of the boat. If want details on this, ask me, I'll tell ya all about it!!
At this point the only boat I know of with a 12" that may run lake racer next season is Mikes 15R with a 2litre (and in that case the 1550lb rule should be reviewed, JMO).
Archer, RBT, Gieger, Archer 2.0 (driver tba), myself and hopefully whom ever buys my red/white & black 01 will all be running outlaw.
There's only a handfull of 12" equipped lake boats other then those listed above in the immediate area that would come out to race and most (if not all) would end up in outlaw anyway.
The important thing to remember is that we can adjust the criteria as needed.
If we need to change a rule to make for better completion within a class then that's what'll happen.
......and for those that want to bitch about double elimination and only getting to run 2 passes each day all I can say is....stop whining and shut the fuck up!!
My first year at Jasper I ran 2 passes for the entire weekend. The second year was 2 passes each day. This after 2 days driving down to be followed with 2 days driving home.
The experience & knowledge you gain from loosing (usually from those that beat you) is invaluable as you move forward. Eric said it very well about 10 pages ago.
Now....let the discussion continue.

Ooooh, Bad Banana Manbeast, you had me at ,"....stop whining and shut the fuck up!!".

It's not "Run what ya brung" at all. We have some basic rules here and are trying to do the best we can for those that race and those that might race without getting into a serious technical set if rules. Just as a heads up for those that think there's anything wrong with the weight or motor rules so far. Kenny you'd have to weigh the most out of any boat currently in our program if we followed ODBA rules. . . Ted would be near about the lightest out there based on the current boat competing . . .
There's no need to get into a highly technical set of rules here because we don't have the entries to support it. We could but we don't and I don't think we will. There's currently enough boats here in Ontario and the near north USA to have a field of Lake Racer boats that would blow away any amount of entrie any US organization has gotten in the past 4 years for one single race. The divide in the two boating groups has hurt the racing we could have. . .

No it's not easy to beat Ted , Jason or Pat but it is doable for sure. They have done their homework and will continue to do so. There's guys that come out to race that do not have race boats by any means and that is extremely honourable and without them the races wouldn't be the same. There's an ODBA Lake Racer world championship winning boat that races each and every race too ....... so as you can see you can't get more vast than this group. That is the best part about this , let's keep it that way while trying to continue to be competitive.

I for one think it's great that opinions were voiced about certain rules , it shows there's some competitive drive and spirit there in you. Keep that up please !!!!

I don't understand the mid issue either apparently :geek: lol ...
There will be some that show up ... Now !
 Have been kicking the idea around of taking the lake boat out of her with that $et up, which will also need a Geiger Tech light weight string steer to go with that 12 incher 8-) .
Why not just sell the boat and buy one just for this class... Silly !

Read the rules Kenny. .

The second seat area must be free and clear for a seat to be installed if running an XR2001RR. ( not a DR , R or MVP ). Same applies for the STV ModVP.
