I'd like us to have a huge array of boats / motor combos race. If you come out and destroy Pat then you will be thrown at a minimum of 200-500 lbs. Now on the other hand if you do beat up on a regular you can be damn proud of your combo. Either as mentioned by all bring it out and we will have fun :)

SO what have we come up with? I am thinking if you are looking for a minimum weight... It should be boat and driver ready to race..... minus fuel. So what is fair Jeff suggested 1400lbs for a boat weight....It would make sense to increase it to 1550 with the driver...... But that would make Pat not run becasue he would be adding 250-300lbs...... and Ted would be adding 160lbs, It would be an advantage for me becasue I could stay at my weight..... I am starting to think a standard weight across the board is not the answer.... Maybe we start by adding 50lbs to Pat, Ted and I......and limit our compression? That weight can be added in the form of extra fuel if you like.... Makes it a bit safer. No Bags of lead shot to fly around the boat. 50lbs takes Ted to 1440 ready to race, Me to 1630, and Pat would be right around 1400 I would think? I can cancel my Heads

Here is my only problem with this........I want to make it to jasper next year and if I can't run two races up here to test against ted in boat fully race ready I will have no base line . I have over 100lbs I can strip from my boat and add Heads....I really want to see what she can do before jasper.

I am speculating with regards to my current weight.
This is based off the asumption that I have 600lb Hull. I am going to try to get this thing weighed asap so I can have a better idea as to what is possible for me to run at.

We can add the weight to Ted's boat easily and welcome it. I agree that 1550 lbs is a good race ready with driver weight. I do not think that limiting compression on top of that is the answer as money has been spent and you can't limit half or part of the field with same like motors. Compression is a huge equalizer and should stay because only Ted has really run tighter heads ( that we know of ) but if Dean and Anthony were to have thrown 200psi worth of compression at their boats the finishing order would end up very different I promise you that.
Adding weight is not as hard as you think and can be creatively done very easily.

Jason and anytime you want to test a 1/4mile with Ted after August is an easy phone call to set up if you want to seriously test for Jasper. Ted's boat will be set up strictly for Jasper right after the last TORC race and a simple 1/4mile set of markers is easy.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know the general rule of adding weight.
I "think" most sanctioning bodies don't like more the 10% of the overall hull weight for safety or something like that.
Might just be for the smaller boats.
