Exactly..2 sea stars and a tiebar will get you by I would think. With Dave's boat we found a used Latham front mount and bought a Capilano helm...but he runs some big water.

With a capilano helm and Mayfair or Latham side mount hydraulic rams (1 for each motor) and a rear tie bar you will be able to take your hands of the wheel at 80 ( not recommended though -lol) with zero torque on the wheel. One ram pushes on one side as one ram pulls on the other.

We did the front mount on the 34 Super because it's impossible to find wing plates for a Yamaha...even harder with an hpdi and Dave doesn't like to cut stuff up to make the wings fit either. That's one benefit to running a Merc...wings are reasonably easy to find.

No..as of right now there is no counter rotating vmax lower. So, we're waiting for Uncle Bender to make a counter rotating fat shaft conversion. His boat is 2ft wider than yours so it's not so noticeable.

I'm still not a fan of twin 3L on a 7ft wide boat but that's just me and my hatred of porpoising out of control white boats

Twin promax's is what you should be doing(because there is no talking you out of twins). Spend some time on O.S.O. Big blocks will pull like a drag boat.. But won't do anything else well.
