You don’t see many “OLD” videos of this class. The class was based on a 35 cubic inch maximum displacement Stock Outboard. Most of the motors were 40C model two cylinder Tohatsu. There were a few OMC 2 cylinder and very few 30 hp Yamaha 3 cylinder motors. Many of the drivers mentioned here became top racers in the higher categories. One also became a tunnel boat builder for SST 45.

The video is boring because 2/3 of the time is spend just doing the entries. But, the number of entries is the impressive part.

Ron Hill promoted the class in the 1980’s. Ron is still trying to promote a modern version using 4 stroke Stock Outboards. “Green “ emissions outboards do race over seas in several classes.
GT30 class is popular class.

Our T750 class is a step up from this class. Those hulls ran 45 to 55 mph. Our T750 run 55 to 64 mph. It allows both 2 strokes and 4 stroke models.

We also have rules for GT30 included in our T Class Rule book. To have GT30 as part of the race program only requires entries. You don’t need to do anything else.
