A note moving forward. All racers MUST wear a competition approved vest / jacket from one of the normal manufacturers. ( Lifeline , SRP etc ) It MUST be a competition vest and NOT a "Sport" or "Poker Run" version. We must be in compliance and it's only fitting you would want to protect yourself. Cheers ** I tried to post this on the other Canadian performance boating site but it's telling me I do not have permission ** |

Dear Drag/Jeff/Dean, It's great how this class is maturing, implementing and enforcing(not popular with everyone) its own rules & with integrity; it's evident how Jeff's car racing experience lends itself here, Dean's skill set & approach is also key. Drag is following similar trajectory as T, a few early years building critical mass, now stricter rule/safety enforcement, while promoting growth encouraging Newbies to participate. Jeff & Dean's regular off season updates and discussion prompts to move needle forward are smart to prepare class/drivers for Spring, manage expectations, to an evolving & higher standard.(Honorable mention: similar strategic M.O. as from Hounddog's T playbook). Since appearing on TORC's horizon, I have been a Drag proponent, if for no other reason than economic rationale when TORC's long term financial future seemed challenging. Drag has been a great addition, it is an equal partner with T & stock outboard, need not feel as the red haired orphan in the family. Attend meetings, get on the agenda with your concerns, propose solutions to suit your preferences. 'Nuf said on that. My offer: if there are Drag Newbies that want to participate, do not have race jacket(& pants/sleeves), pleased to lend my/Jr's stuff to get guys on water. I'm sure other T drivers would offer same when need identified; just give us a heads up & as race day scheduling permits. Keep up the good work guys. Hydroid |

Like hydroid said there's a bunch of us that will lend anyone a jacket or whatever you need to get out and race. Especially the new guys that just want to try racing before committing financially to all the safety equipment. Is there a flak requirement for drag? I know we had to comply with that in T and I wasn't sure if that was a CBF or a TORC rule that applied to all classes. |

sheuninck wrote: will these work ? http://www.rcdracing.com/ Some very good pricing on these guy's and as far as i can see would meet approval. Thanks for the link sheuninck. Thank you Hydroid for the encouragement and push as well. Now that the holidays are over i am looking forward to preparing for the upcoming race season in many ways. My Sandra's motto is strong in 2016, I will be too and extend this sentiment to all racers. Jeff and i will be getting together soon to finalize details and changes. |

Thanks Don't be afraid to post yourself....there's lots of T boat, hydroplane and drag racers here as well as rec guys that are fast enough to warrant a real jacket. I need a cut suit myself ....give us some details if you like. |
