V8 -- All the 2014 rules are a continuance of the 2013 rules as posted. All that you've listed in your post are perfect for Formula rules and allowed ( factory 225hp max ).
See the 2014 Rules post for all three classes.

Jeff ;)

What RPM limit do you have ? More importantly at what RPM do you make the most HP ?

As far as blade type goes , a Yamaha Sport Cleaver ( Yamaha-Drag ) is the most proven. Small ear choppers have won there fair share of races. Big ear Choppers have been cut to win as well. Stay away from a standard type Cleaver due to the poor grip they seem to have.

I'd think for your RPM vs HP that a True Yamaha Drag that has been worked is the way to go and I'd try a 26" .

We had a Panther just like yours with a 200 Merc. I was always impressed with how well it accelerated. I would think your setup could be very strong in Formula! If I ever get a big boat again I would love to try this class!!

I'd try a True worked Yamaha Drag 26"

Remember the very most important thing in drag racing is not how fast you go but how quick you get there. That means getting the boat up and out of the water as quickly as possible ( skid planer , cav plate , fast trim , weight balance etc etc )
And all of those things you may do for quicker acceleration will not hurt your top end one bit

Jeff
