Is it legal to bolt a Sidewinder powerhead on this?

There is nothing in the rule book about mixing and matching old with new. As far as I know the lower units are identical. Talk to Rob and Ross about it, I'm sure a rule amendment could be done. They would know what interchanges with the motors for sure. If you want to speak to the source direct, Ron Selewach and Rich Runne would be the guys to speak to. I know what your thinking and it would be a good way to package a motor together much cheaper. Lots of cheap H rods available if you could get the Sidewinder powerhead.

The foot is the same internally, but much different externally. The SW has the OMC A shaped skeg... the hot rod shape is way different, not as good in my book, but useable. This will sell fast. boat looks mint and has good names to go with it and good owner. I have too much going on to do more than dream about it. But food for thought in future. Ross uses a Hot Rod mid and foot, with SW powerhead but I wasn't sure it was actually legal to do, or APBA legal anyway. No idea a complete powerhead price, but they sell the foot for what $1300, mid must be a couple hundred min. So maybe save $1500 on the price of a sidewinder... boat and Hot Rod are free then.
