The boat was a critchfield. We had previously raced production model Voodoos and a 13 foot checkmate with long shaft motors in the class, but they were not competitive with the top T750. This was in 2013.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdsi1bA ... NleQ%3D%3DThe race was a good match and the 49 finished second. It was obvious that the extra weight was the only reason the 49 didn’t win. The weight made the boat accelerate slower and reduced its top speed.
Eric’s Delta is much lighter , has good acceleration and a top speed of 65 mph.
When the T750 class last raced T750 boats were running low 60’s. Eric would easily beat any T750. In fact he would be very competitive racing against the 60 hp Mercury and the 70 Yamaha 70CES. Having a few of the Mercury and Yamaha boats back racing would add to the T850 class.
