here is a question, how do i tell the difference between chrome and nikasil ? all my bp blocks have pin holes in the coatings, i read somewhere that is one way to tell nik from chrome but i can find where or remember what was the one with pin holes. |

i have pistons now, and a set of rings but i have no clue as to what bore they are for. there a solid black ring if that tells anyone anything. and 0ne single ring that came on the mahale pistons that is shiny with tiny horizontal grooves in it. i suppose my best bet would be to take my block to someone like paul and have him order me 5 sets of rings for steel bore, and 1 set for what ever my other bore is. chrome or nik, im sure a professional would know what it is if they looked at it.. i am so excited to get this thing together. |

Put the rings in the bore and measure the end gap... |
