With the current and growing inflation increases the cost to put on an event will increase. Events are going to need more sponsors and organizations will likely need to look at partnerships with other groups for needed additional funds to put on some events. For many events a major revenue resource is entry fees. The more entries the greater the income . The positive side is the events will become more interesting and attract more attendance. Larger attendance will attract better paying sponsors when they see a return on their investment in the event. An example would be a beer company having a beer tent. Smaller organizations can team up and share an event. Jet Skis, Drag Boat, Model Aircraft, even a flea market where vendors pay to have a booth, used private boat sellers. |

People may have wondered why I started this thread. The reason was the Gravenhurst event was looking like it maybe cancelled . The great news is the event wasn’t cancelled . Once you lose an event it’s unlikely you will get it back. Hats off to those who stepped up to keep the event. |
