I have one extra prop, which seems to have a bit of history.
I got it from Jeff Baker [Jeff and Sam Baker built the Rapid Crafts]. It is a DAH prop, stamped 2024F C2.5. Jeff Baker said is is Jeff Brown’s former prop that he ran when he won the world Sport E championships one year. It is a 12.0” over-hub for OMC. It is very slightly cut down [shaft length is 3.5"] to fit the shorter Merc shaft, but no issue running it on an OMC. The small amount shaved off was done professionally on an EDM machine, perfectly perpendicular to the shaft. On the relatively heavy Rapid Craft with a rev-limited 247 lb Merc 60 FormulaRace, the boat will do 64 mph at the 6200 rpm limit. This is exactly what my 12" 22 pitch Ron Hill [re-worked by Kawartha] prop does. I find them basically equivalent, so I'm OK to let the DAH prop go, even though it does apparently represent a bit of racing history. $300 Cdn. I'll bring it along to the OPBRA Peterborough races next weekend. Photos x 4 on Photobucket -- if you can't access, email me [tom.schnull@glencore-ca.com] and I'll send them to you.
