Ray Nudacker suggested doing this to get the same gain as removing the airbox (slight) without the added noise. you do get some mess under the hood, noy much , but I noticed it on the side of my midsection coming from the pan. I would trade straight up for a stock airbox if someone is interested.

i run the stock air box and i have the same oil line down the side of my mid.. i think its from the oil tank vent. not sure yet.. I always assume the worst so my first thought when i saw oil on my mid was fml crank seal.
