I still a little cringe at the thought, but have decided to make the leap to the new 2.4 radio systems and a bushless electric motor on my latest project. The hull is a Prather Lap Cat from the late 80's, with a horrid looking old 3.5 K&B nitro outboard. This is a shorter version of Pat's boat for those that have seen his. I'll post progress on it as I go. I suspect the paint scheme will be the same as my old Mirage. With a little balsa and fiberglass I should be able to copy the Stinger cowl somewhat too. |

Saw this a while ago and thought of you.. http://www.daymak.com/e-toys/rossa-d A 5ft version of the Catch 10 with something slow might be fun to build. Modified trolling motor and a big Caddy/truck power window motor to work the steering from the remote's signal.. |

I am picking this up one of these later this week. Old school, early 80's brushed electric that I may also convert to brushless. All depends how mint it is. They're getting to be difficult to find. The original Kyosho hull is actually made of foam, which made me think carving out a T-boat would be quite possible with foam from Home Depot and a lot of patience. *I've only ever seen one r/c boat with a pad* |

Well...pieces now. It has a real lower...with gears...which is finicky. Mine only worked once...the gears always seemed to bind. The one time it worked though it hauled balls even with the 540.. |

Here's my 3.5 that I've started working on this fall. Last time out (5 years ago) I broke the flex shaft...so I replace that and added a new muffler. Turned out pretty good I think...sorry for hijacking your thread but I still get pretty wound up over RC stuff.. |

That's a cool muffler! My first 3.5 had a tuned pipe on it. Stuck straight out the back about 5" or so. So where's the Zenoah? |

Nice! I can see the Jackson cowl in there too. For some reason I thought you had a 260pum or something like this.. It's only AUD$899.00 plus shipping.. http://www.hobbydepot.com.au/popup_image.php?pID=479 |
