With 2012 racing season over, reaching out to the community asking if anyone has and willing to provide winter storage, effective now until early June 2013, when racing season begins. Although indoor storage ideal, outdoor will do, asking availability at no or minimal $/mo to club. Previous years, stored in Ottawa area for free, towed to/from races during the season. In 2012 TORC took steps to bring closer to GTA to reduce transport costs, wear/tear. During racing season it was stored couple of months at GTA rental storage facility, however this is not sustainable for 8mo period, and would erode savings to date. Shortly, it will be winterized, minor repairs, cleaned, contents organized. It's aluminum, 6'x17' footprint, has snap-on cover, further covered by poly tarp. We will jack it up, blocks under to take weight off tires for 8mo. We can leave it wheels down for couple of months at the location for moving around, return to block it up for winter. The club will bring it to location, 150km+/- of GTA will work(eg: cottage yard/driveway, etc..). Looking to nail this within following days, as it's currently at a TORC member driveway in GTA. Please contact me. Erik M: 416-432-7243 |

I've got lots of space and can shrink wrap it instead of tarping. I know we're out of the way but if nothing better comes up I've got the room. |

BIG thanks to Lil Charger, Dok and TG, each for quickly offering to winterize, wrap/store boat. Will likely accept TG's offer/location, given closest to my travels, many pass by TG's when future towing required....next likely....WATERFORD 2013, only 9mo away!! Thanks again to all! |

hcdcanada wrote: cant you guys keep it at the club downtown? Good Q. Briefly, THSC club(T.O.) and TORC/CBF are not affiliated. THSC dropped the Hydroplane activity decades ago, as sailing advanced. TORC is privileged to enjoy THSC club house use through a TORC member who is member of both. He facilitates TORC guest use of club house, for Sat/AGM/Awards meetings. Boat storage for 9mo would be overstepping the privilege....of course, anything can be arranged for a cost( annual membership, storage, etc..). TG's site(& other generous offers) works very well, and appreciated. |

Want to thank Dave Roeterink for hauling boat from DV to his place in Miss, organizing interior. Mark Taylor, Dave & I prepped last night at Dave's, then hauled it to TG's who will winterize/wrap. Boat will be tucked away shortly, to await 2013 season. Want to thank all involved, and those that offered to help! |
