somebody really needs to get in touch with imperial or sun and get some sponsorship in the way of fuel to the race sites!I know esso use to drop us fuel drums at the shop for the sst boat! They might be happy to get there name up in the stands for a couple drums of fuel,we really don't burn much!

You will have a better chance with VP fuels. They were the spec fuel supplier for APR Superleague for several years. Racers had to use that fuel and pre-order their fuel with a 5 gallon minimum. Someone with a VP distributor contact could look into it and then it can go to discussion with the TORC executive. Place to start is to see if VP is interested.

Im talking about getting free fuel for the racers, I don't see where a race fuel supplier is going to benefit from giving us fuel! the large oil companies might like some advertising as a payout! I know we don't burn a lot of fuel in the boats, but it all adds up at the end of the weekend! I'm just trying to make it a little easier for the guys that don't have a large bankrole! I plan on getting two boats to the sites so every bit I can save will be a bonus!
While were on the subject of fuel, how bout some oil too! I know oils a tough one everybody has there own preference, but if the boating community see's all these race boats burning a certain brand and holding together It would certainly help there sales!

I willing to sit down and discuss opportunities with anyone, im sure by now everyone on here knows my ties with Lucas Oil. Its all about making a effort sponsors will not chase after you.

Going after sponsorship is ultra time consuming and takes a lot of face to face effort (particularly for a volunteer group) Its well worth it, and we have great sponsors, but my efforts currently are tapped. If someone wants to pursue a specific sponsor, feel free to contact me prior and we'll clear the approach. Cheers.

I've never tried Lucas oil. I'd use it if it was a sponsor.

For fuel Petro Canada would be cool. Especially if the boats that ran in the US all had a petro Canada sticker on them. Lol.

You might not see it directly... but I believe Lucas Oil is the largest sponsor of boat racing in North America. Heck they have a TV show just for boat racing and built their own special lake for drag racing and it is now being used for outboard oval racing too. On the local level, the HCD/Lucas boats have been donated at Dunnville and Gravenhurst as support boats outside of the race course to help keep pleasure boats away from the race course. They also give rides to spectators after the races and donate majority of the money raised doing that to charity. Also HCD donates Lucas Oil products to three classes of racing in TORC.

So it's time to use it ;)
